Mission
We will be carrying on our
Pound Out Hunger campaign for several weeks through July. Just a few cents
buys a great deal of food for those in need. Watch for the person after
services holding the donation container, then watch the graph on the
bulletin board each week as your donations toward much needed food goes
up!
Thank you to all who brought
in Tornado Relief items for buckets and the monetary donations as well.
These folks may be needing our help long term as time goes on. We will
keep you informed.
Thank you for the donation
of 550 pounds of potatoes that were taken to Lakeside in June as part of
the Annual Conference's love offering. Many will be fed with your
donations.
Please talk to Pastor Kurt
or a mission team member if you are interested in the adult mission trip
to Henderson Settlement on 9/26 - 10/2. Congratulations to our youth on
their successful mission trip in June.
During July and August,
please bring in school supplies that we will distribute to local schools.
Lists are available on the back tables in the sanctuary.

We
are involved in lots of missions, both close to home and far
away. Our missions committee is a resource for you to be involved
in missions wherever God is calling you.
Thank you all so
much for your kindness and generosity. If you would like to help
on the mission committee, bring some thoughts and ideas. We meet
at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. We would love to
have you!

Campbell's Labels
The Henderson Settlement is continuously collecting UPC labels
from Campbell products. A full list of products is available on
the bulletin board outside the office. They use these to provide
needed transportation. They are only 493,246 labels away
from a new minivan. (It takes 1,600,000 labels to receive a
minivan!!) Please help out if you can.

Jerusalem Twp. Food
Pantry and Food for Thought
We will continue collecting toilet tissue for the Jerusalem
Township Food Pantry, and peanut butter, jelly, sandwich bags, and
plastic gloves for Food For Thought, to help with the lunches they
put together.

Additional mission opportunities include (but are not
limited to):
 | Habitat for Humanity, |
 | Restorative Justice Prison Ministry, |
 | St. Louis mission for feeding homeless, |
 | Friendly Center to provide for inner-city residents, |
 | A partnership with Central United Methodist Church to learn
and grow together, and |
 | Collection of supplies for disaster victims. |
Besides these on-going projects, we are involved in many short
term mission events, such as underwear collection and even sending
mission teams to impoverished parts of our country.
Do you want to get involved or do you have an idea for a new
mission initiative? Contact Kristi in the church office at kristin@christumcoregon.org.
